Tesway X7 False Claims
Tesway X7 False Claims
I Had to Call Out Tesway’s False Claims: Why Honest E-Bike Reviews Matter
The e-bike industry has grown incredibly fast over the past few years. With that growth has come more innovation, more competition, and unfortunately, more exaggerated marketing claims.
As reviewers, our responsibility isn’t to repeat a manufacturer’s specifications—it’s to verify them.
That’s exactly why I made this video.
After spending time with Tesway’s e-bikes and reviewing the company’s published marketing, I found several claims that deserved a closer look. Some specifications and promotional statements simply didn’t match my real-world experience.
Rather than ignore those differences, I felt it was important to address them openly.
Why Accuracy Matters
When someone purchases an e-bike, they’re often spending well over a thousand dollars.
Buyers rely on manufacturer specifications when comparing bikes, including:
- Motor performance
- Battery capacity
- Range estimates
- Torque figures
- Top speed
- Weight
- Included features
If those claims aren’t accurate—or don’t reflect real-world performance—it becomes much harder for consumers to make informed purchasing decisions.
That’s why independent testing is so important.
Real-World Testing vs. Marketing
Specification sheets only tell part of the story.
During every review, I evaluate an e-bike under actual riding conditions rather than relying solely on the numbers provided by the manufacturer.
That includes testing:
- Real-world acceleration
- Hill-climbing performance
- Ride quality
- Battery efficiency
- Build quality
- Component performance
- Overall ownership experience
Sometimes those results confirm the manufacturer’s claims.
Sometimes they don’t.
When they don’t, viewers deserve to know.
Why I Spoke Up
Calling out questionable marketing isn’t about creating controversy.
It’s about accountability.
Manufacturers should absolutely promote the strengths of their products, but those claims should accurately represent what customers can realistically expect after spending their hard-earned money.
If I notice discrepancies between published information and what I observe during testing, I believe it’s my responsibility to discuss them openly rather than simply repeating the marketing language.
That transparency helps everyone.
Honest Reviews Help Consumers
One reason independent reviews continue to matter is that they provide context that marketing materials often leave out.
A specification sheet can’t tell you:
- How natural the pedal assist feels.
- Whether the bike inspires confidence.
- How well the suspension works.
- If the controller is properly tuned.
- Whether the company delivers on its promises.
Those are the details riders actually remember after months of ownership.
That’s why I place so much emphasis on real-world testing instead of simply reading specifications.
What Buyers Should Look For
Whenever you’re researching an e-bike purchase, don’t rely on one source of information.
Instead:
- Compare multiple independent reviews.
- Read owner experiences.
- Look beyond headline specifications.
- Research warranty support.
- Evaluate long-term reliability.
- Pay attention to how companies respond to legitimate criticism.
The more information you gather before buying, the better your chances of making a purchase you’ll be happy with for years.
Accountability Makes the Industry Better
Constructive criticism shouldn’t be viewed as an attack.
In fact, it’s one of the most valuable forms of feedback a manufacturer can receive.
Companies that acknowledge concerns, improve their products, and communicate honestly often earn more trust over time than companies that ignore criticism altogether.
Healthy competition and honest feedback ultimately benefit everyone—from manufacturers to reviewers to consumers.
My Commitment to Honest Reviews
I’ve always believed that my loyalty belongs to the viewers—not the companies sending products for review.
That means celebrating products that genuinely impress me while also pointing out areas where manufacturers can improve.
Every review should answer one simple question:
Would I recommend this product to someone spending their own money?
Sometimes the answer is yes.
Sometimes it’s more complicated.
Either way, viewers deserve the complete story.
Final Thoughts
The purpose of this video wasn’t to single out one company.
It was to remind both manufacturers and consumers that honesty matters.
Marketing will always highlight the best-case scenario.
Independent reviews exist to show what happens in the real world.
When buyers have access to accurate information, they make better purchasing decisions. And when manufacturers are held accountable, the entire e-bike industry improves.
That’s a win for everyone.
